SCHOOLS RUGBY
SURREY-BASED Reed’s School are maintaining their unbeaten run in this season’s SOCS Daily Mail Schools Trophy. A 52-17 win over Oratory School was the sixth successive triumph for a team who have been together ever since a first-year tour of Argentina some seven years ago. ‘They have stuck together and this is the end of their development,’ said Anthony Talbot, head of rugby. The team spirit has helped put Reed’s among the unbeaten teams in this national competition sponsored by school management system SOCS. Captain Jack Kenningham, who is at the Harlequins academy, leads from No 8 backed up by Austin Wallis, a versatile flanker or hooker, and goal-kicking fly-half Beau Roberts. Talbot rates a win over Hurstpierpoint as about the best of their scalps that include Eastbourne College, RGS Guildford and St George’s Weybridge.
