Camping boosts sales

ROCKETING demand for holidays in the UK and summer festivals helped Mountain Warehouse toast record half-year results.

The outdoor retailer posted its fifth year of record results after demand for sleeping bags and camping equipment grew over the summer. Half-year sales jumped 19.3pc to £91.6m in the six months to August 27, while profits increased 18pc to £4.7m.

International sales were up a record 50.3pc.
