Love scenes are easier with women...there are no male egos, says Battle Of The Sexes star
SHE has acted with Hollywood hunks such as Tom Cruise and Edward Norton. But British actress Andrea Riseborough says doing love scenes with women is easier – because of men’s delicate egos.
Miss Riseborough filmed intimate scenes with Oscar winner Emma Stone for Battle Of The Sexes, which opens in the UK this week. Miss Stone, 29, plays tennis legend Billie Jean King and Miss Riseborough, 36, is hairdresser Marilyn Barnett.
The pair had a secret relationship in the 1970s while Mrs King was married and at the peak of her career. Miss Barnett outed her former lover as a lesbian in 1981.
Miss Riseborough said love scenes for the film were less awkward. ‘I’ve worked opposite so many male actors whose egos have been so delicate that it was just so hard to do the work,’ she said. ‘You just get through the day and do what you can.’
The film centres on the famous 1973 tennis match between Mrs King and selfproclaimed male chauvinist Bobby Riggs.
