Simple remedy
I WAS struck by nurse Neil Young’s statement that the most precious thing you can give anyone is your time (Letters).
When I was an auxiliary nurse, the sister in charge would encourage us to speak to patients while washing, feeding and dressing them.
A human touch is such a positive thing for those who are unwell and in distress. That wonderful nursing sister always told us: ‘Put yourself in your patient’s place and treat them
as you would expect to be treated.’ Simple, isn’t it. Lorraine Smith, Southminster, essex.
