LIKE Jan Moir, I would rather have a gravy- splattered cookbook than recipes on a laptop ( Mail). The Delia Smith cookery course cookbooks were bought for me by my then husband-to-be to teach me to cook.
We still enjoy her braised steak and onions in stout — it can’t be surpassed by any of the nouvelle cuisine chefs.
