Daddy’s girl

I WAS intrigued by the claim that women who wed a clone of their father experience particularly happy marriages (Mail). Is the opposite true: that women who wed someone who is not like their father are doomed to failure?

I married a lovely lady, and together we raised four wonderful children. But she adored her father, with whom I didn’t get on, and he behaved as though our marriage was a threat to his relationship with his daughter. Our marriage broke down and even now that her father is dead, my former wife still acts as though he was the love of her life.
