Eddie plans Robshaw switch

- CHRIS FOY

EDDIE JONES is considering starting Chris Robshaw at openside flanker against Samoa on Saturday — two years after saying he lacked the ‘specialist skills and instinct’ of a true No 7. England’s coach has altered his view since succeeding Stuart Lancaster after the 2015 World Cup. At that time, he said he had doubts about Robshaw, but the Harlequins back-rower has forced the Australian to change his mind. That process would be complete were he to start at openside in the autumn’s final match, having been a fixture at blindside under Jones. Sam Underhill is out after a second concussion of the season and Tom Curry is injured so Robshaw could switch flanks. Maro Itoje and Sam Simmonds will also be considered.
