Morrisons cuts fuel price by 10p

-

SUPERMARKET chain Morrisons yesterday slashed the price of fuel by 10p ahead of Black Friday this week.

This equates to £5 per tank in a typical family car.

The Black Five Days Fuel deal kicked off yesterday and will run until Sunday – but there is a catch. To qualify, shoppers have to spend at least £50 in a store, not online. The supermarket is hoping the move will bring in more customers amid fierce competition.

Morrisons services director Steve Mosey said: ‘Motorists could face a triple whammy of rising petrol prices, extra fuel tax and a busy Christmas shopping season so we’re doing what we can to help them afford to run their cars.’

It comes as motorists wait to find out if fuel duty will be raised for the first time in seven years in tomorrow’s Budget.
