Dad sued over son’s one GCSE
A FATHER sued a boarding school last year for the £125,000 he paid towards his son’s education after he left with just one GCSE.
Scott Craddock, 57, paid £28,000 a year for David to attend Abbotsholme School in Staffordshire, but claimed it did not deliver on its promises when the teenager left with just a grade C in science.
He said at the time: ‘David was disheartened when he got his results. He said, “you spent all that money on my education and I walk away with one GCSE”. I think he would have done better at a local comp. They have not provided what they promised in any shape or form.’
‘The teachers said he would come away with at least five GCSEs – but he has got one. He wasn’t the only one to underachieve so the standard of teaching there is way below what one would expect from a public school education,’ the divorced father of two told The Daily Telegraph.
