Woman driver in Bentley axe attack
THIS is the terrifying moment a mother and her son were set upon by axe-wielding thugs as they waited in their £200,000 Bentley at traffic lights.
The hooded gang – who had sped up on mopeds – hacked repeatedly at the window of the fourwheel drive vehicle before they demanded that the driver hand over her Rolex watch.
Dash-cam footage from another car shows the bikers blocking in the SUV before they dismounted and attacked the Bentley Bentayga for 30 seconds.
The driver, who does not want to be named for fear of reprisals, only managed to drive away when the traffic lights changed. The family of the married mother of three have now put up a £10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the gang.
Last night she told the Mail about her ‘absolutely terrifying ordeal’ in Bury.
She said she had been driving her 16-year- old son to a sixth form open evening on Wednesday when there was suddenly a ‘loud bang’. She added: ‘Then the glass started shattering and there was repeated hammering and someone trying to get inside the car. I was covered in glass but my instinct was to protect my son. He was screaming.’
After putting her foot down on the accelerator, the shaken victims arrived at school where they was absolutely broke down horrific,’ in tears. the ‘It mother said. ‘We were very, very lucky to get away unscathed. ‘My son was absolutely traumatised by it, we were both terrified. You just don’t expect something like that to happen. We were in the centre of Bury, on a well-lit road, in very heavy traffic. To blatantly do this is shocking, it just shows these people will go to any lengths and you’re not safe anywhere.’ Detective Sergeant Ian Partington, of Greater Manchester Police, said: ‘This was a disturbing and unprovoked attack.’
