INSULATION and roofing company SIG’ s shares rose after posting soaring sales.

Sales in the UK and Ireland in July to the end of Oc tober jumped 2.5pc while sales in mainland Europe increased 6.6pc – bringing total group sales up 4.6pc.

Growth was underpinned by strong performances in France, Poland and German y which offset w eak trading in the Benelux countries.

Shares yesterday increased 6pc, or 9.5p, to 16 9.1p as a result of the news.
