Hazard: Jose got it wrong over Salah

- SAMI MOKBEL

Eden HAZARD believes former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho never gave Mohamed salah a chance at stamford Bridge and the club made a mistake in allowing him to leave. As the Belgium star prepares to go head-to-head against his close friend in the Premier League clash with Liverpool tomorrow evening, Hazard says salah was not handed a fair crack of the whip at stamford Bridge. The egypt international lasted just over 12 months in west London, leaving on loan for Fiorentina in February 2015 after failing to impress Mourinho. Another loan spell at Roma followed before he joined the Italian club permanently in the summer of 2016. Hazard said: ‘He was unlucky not to get longer (at Chelsea). He didn’t get the chance — maybe because of the manager, maybe because of the players. ‘He has quality but in this period I remember it was me, Willian, oscar, Juan Mata also, so for him it was not easy. But he’s a top player for sure.’ The Belgian added of the 25-year-old: ‘It is always good to play against a friend, because in football you can’t have a lot of friends. ‘I want him to do well but not a lot because we want to win. I want to ask him for his shirt (after the match), for sure.’
