Mamma mia! Did platform boots bust Lily’s foot?
SHE’S the Dancing Queen in the long-awaited Mamma Mia! sequel, but Lily James won’t be tearing up the dance floor for a while after breaking her foot.
Filming has been delayed after the actress slipped and fractured her toe.
The Downton Abbey star, 28, has spent the past few months cavorting about the set in towering platform boots for the Seventies-set Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (right). But she’s been left hobbling around in a far less glamorous foot brace, pictured left.
While frantic producers could use a body double for some scenes, it’s thought they will instead push back shooting. ‘Poor Lily tripped really badly and stubbed her toe, breaking her foot in the process,’ a studio insider reveals. ‘They were due to shoot most of the dancing scenes this week, so Lily’s have all been delayed.’
Lily put a brave face on it by sharing on Instagram a picture of her celebrating the American festival of Thanksgiving with co-stars Alexa Davies and Jessica Keenan Wynn, below.
