Fruity remedy for constipati­on

EATING kiwi fruit may help with constipati­on. In a study at Nottingham University, volunteers are being given two kiwi fruit or a placebo drink, twice a day for two days. Over the next 24 hours, researcher­s will scan their bowels and the volunteers will record their bowel movements.

Kiwis are thought to have a laxative effect — though it’s unclear why.
