INDIA handed Sri Lanka their heaviest Test defeat as they lost by an innings and 239 runs in the second Test in Nagpur. Ravichandran Ashwin took eight wickets in the match to take his Test tally to 300 as India equalled their biggest Test win. India declared on 610 for six, with Virat Kohli hitting 213. The first Test was drawn. The third begins in Delhi on Saturday.

Russia will defend their athletes who were stripped of medals from the 2014 sochi Winter Olympics. The international Olympic Committee annulled the results of 14 Russian athletes due to doping violations, but the Russian federations governing these sports will appeal to the Court of arbitration for sport. ‘One can hardly steal a victory that has already been won,’ said a Kremlin spokesman.
