Hamilton: I’ll quit partying

LEWIS HAMILTON has promised there will be no more partying when it comes down to the real business next season.

The world champion’s vow follows his admission that he spent several big nights out after clinching his fourth title in Mexico on October 29.

He did not win either of the two last races of the season, including sunday’s abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he was second to Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas.

Hamilton said: ‘i will be absolutely disciplined ahead of the next season. The cars will be harder to drive so i will have to train even harder. i won’t be partying then.’

Despite saying he would focus on a triumphant end to the 2017 campaign, Hamilton admitted: ‘ The week after i won the championship i partied a lot. i wouldn’t say i was 100 per cent focused. Before the races earlier in the season i was, and i will be again.’

Nico Rosberg, who beat Hamilton to the title last year, is staying out in abu Dhabi to oversee Robert Kubica’s test for Williams at Yas Marina this week.

Kubica’s F1 career was cut short when he badly damaged his hand in a rally accident in 2011, and Rosberg is part of the Pole’s management team.
