Budget for borders

I HOPE some of the £3 billion earmarked by Chancellor Philip Hammond for Brexit preparations in the recent Budget is allocated to updating our Border Force methods at the Channel ports.

We should not be seeing illegal migrants legging it from trucks in UK service stations. Sticking a carbon dioxide detection probe under the tarpaulin of a random truck in Calais is ridiculous. Surely in this technological age there could be a drive- through system to X-ray every vehicle.
