Laughing all the way to the Dorchester, the £2m Queens of Saturday night TV
THEIR high-profile jobs and huge salaries could spark feelings of rivalry.
But leading ladies of Saturday night TV proved they were the best of friends this week, enjoying a lavish dinner together.
Tess Daly, Claudia Winkleman, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon – between them paid an estimated £1.5million to £2million a year – gathered at the Dorchester Hotel’s China Tang restaurant on Wednesday.
Strictly Come Dancing hosts Miss Daly, 48, and Miss Winkleman 45, were pictured leaving arm-in-arm in matching black velvet blazers.
Miss Dixon, 39, who was a judge on Strictly between 2009 and 2012 after winning the show, posted an image of the four laughing and wrote: ‘The ladies of Saturday night TV! #bossladies.’ Miss Holden, 46, who works as a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent with Miss Dixon replied: ‘I can’t believe this is the first time we have all sat down and had a fabulous dinner. We are arguably on the two most family orientated shows on television. We are all women. We are all mummies. We rule! #GirlPower.’
Dining at China Tang, where an evening meal typically costs from around £75 a head, will hardly have put a dent in the finances of the four celebrities.
Mother-of-two Miss Holden and mother-of-one Miss Dixon are each estimated to earn upwards of £400,000 a year.
Mother- of-three Miss Winkleman, who also hosts a Radio 2 show, earns between £450,000 and £499,999 according to BBC figures, while mother-of-two Miss Daly is on between £350,000 and £399,999.
