Act now on bottles

BARELY a day goes by without the big food stores trumpeting their green credentials through advertising and PR spin. Now they have a chance to live up to their fine words with some genuine action.

Yesterday, several giant supermarkets told the Mail they are considering a plastic bottle deposit scheme – which would be a major contribution to stemming the tide of waste blighting our seas and countryside.

We have this message: Stop prevaricating and just do it!
