Dear Santa, I’ve been a good prince so I’d like a police car. Love, George

- By Rebecca English Royal Correspondent

MOST children have to rely on the postal service to deliver their letters to Santa. But when you are third in line to the throne, that clearly won’t do.

So Prince George ensured his message was delivered safely into Father Christmas’s hands by someone important – his father.

Prince William met Santa at a festive market in Helsinki during an official trip to Finland. Pulling the message from his pocket, he said: ‘I’ve seen you and I had to give you this letter.’

In the letter, the fouryear-old assured Father Christmas that he had been a good boy and asked for just one gift, a police car, presumably meaning a toy.

He left other spaces for gift suggestions blank, then signed it ‘Love, George’.

Laughing, William, 35, told Santa: ‘He hasn’t written down many requests, so I think one request is probably OK. He’s been a nice boy.’ Father Christmas, who had travelled from his home in Lapland, northern Finland, could only smile and nod in agreement.
