VOGUE: THE COVERS
(Abrams £45) THERE is, I note, a distinct Ronseal tendency in the titling of books these days: they do what it says on the tin. This is a glossy hardback of old covers of Vogue, from 1892 to the present day. The early ones are historically interesting, and the recent ones a little frantic, but the ones in the middle are lovely and redolent of a more elegant age. This is a pictorial history of the past 120 years. It’s American Vogue, by the way: the British version does not feature.
