I’m an ideas factory like Prince Albert says Andrew

- By Fionn Hargreaves

PRINCE Andrew has described himself as an ‘ideas factory’ and claims he is the ‘entrepreneur-in-residence’ at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York likened himself to innovator Prince Albert and said he has been instrumental in pulling the Royal Family into the 21st century.

He said it was his job to use his power to help other people achieve their ambitions.

‘Prince Albert was the entrepreneur-in-residence at Buckingham Palace,’ Andrew told The Sunday Times Magazine. ‘He was doing it in the Industrial Revolution. I am doing it in the digital revolution. We’re all cogs in a huge bloody machine, yeah? Some of us have the advantage of being able to activate more cogs than other people.’

The duke defended the Queen after it was revealed the Duchy of Lancaster invested more than £10million of her money in offshore tax havens.

He said: ‘First of all, the money’s invested in a country in which she’s the head of state, and the other aspect of it is that if any of the investments have benefit derived by the Queen, she pays tax on them. There’s nothing wrong with it.’

Andrew has run Pitch@Palace, a competition for young tech entrepreneurs, since 201 .
