Benn and the hush-hush horses
HILARY BENN, chairman of the Brexit select committee, worked himself into a real lather over the Government redacting sensitive facts from papers assessing the impact of Brexit. But Benn has a short memory. When he was Environment Secretary, he relied on similar exemptions to conceal information from Freedom of Information requests on far more trivial issues. Such as which zoos giant pandas lived in, the sites in England licensed to hold Welsh Catfish, and a report on the recognition of the United Knabstrupper Association (the Knabstrupper is a horse breed from Denmark known for its eccentric coat). Hardly subjects that warranted any secrecy at all.
