MAKE THIS THE WEEK YOU . . .

MODERNISE CHRISTMAS

- ETAN SMALLMAN

GIFT LIST APP TO MAKE BUYING EASY

GET on top of your present-buying with the Christmas Gift List app (free on Android phones).

It lets you compile a list of your loved ones, with a budget for each. As you shop, type in which goodies you buy and the app will keep you updated on individual budgets, how close you are to exhausting your overall funds, how many gifts you have left to buy and to wrap — and how many days it is until Christmas.

DIGITAL CARDS GET A PERSONAL TOUCH

THE Inkly app (free on Apple and Android) allows you to send hand-written Christmas cards (from £2.99) from your mobile or tablet — without so much as licking an envelope or leaving the house.

Write your message on a piece of paper before uploading a photo of it on to the inside of the card. You can do the same for the address label.

Then select your design, add pictures and choose colours, and your card will be sent first-class to arrive in no more than three working days.

DINNER DELIVERED

ABANDON the idea of doing a festive food shop and get Christmas lunch delivered.

Cook ( cookfood.net) sells Christmas lunch for 12 for £14.75 per head, including turkey and duck, roast potatoes, parmesan parsnips, carrots, sprouts, pigs in blankets, stuffing and gravy, with free delivery.
