Nuclear attack drill for Tokyo

-

MILLIONS of civilians in Tokyo will take part in missile evacuation drills for the first time as Japan prepares for a possible nuclear attack by North Korea.

They will leave their homes and offices in exercises held between January and March next year.

Tokyo, which has 9.3million residents, is only 800 miles from North Korea’s capital, Pyongyang. Towns facing the Korean Peninsula have already had drills, but until now the government has resisted calls for exercises in the capital to avoid scaring the public.

Kim Jong-un’s regime test fired a new intercontinental ballistic missile on November 29 which landed in the Sea of Japan.
