Follow-up
I Read with interest the letter written by Kay Harrison (Peterborough). during the 1950s, my aunt, Mabel Craxton, worked for a shoe factory that was based in Bozeat near Wellingborough in northamptonshire. sir stanley Matthews had his football boots made there then. Periodically he would go to the factory and sign his name on sheets of leather. It was my aunt’s job to then sew them onto his personal boots. she’d often give me few sheets, which made me very popular at school.
