M&S recalls pyjamas over choking fears

-

MARKS & Spencer has withdrawn a range of girls’ pyjamas from the Christmas shelves because they feature a drawstring around the throat.

Amid fears girls could be throttled in bed by the Sleeping Beauty pyjamas, pictured, the company said any customers who had bought them should stop using them immediately.

A spokesman said no injuries had been reported but M&S had found ‘the position of the drawstring on the garment could present a potential safety hazard’.

The PJs are styled like hoodies, for girls between the ages of seven and 15, and have been on sale since September 30.

It is feared many people have wrapped them up as Christmas presents for daughters and granddaughters.

The spokesman said: ‘The safety of our customers is our top priority and we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.’
