Come on mummy, it’s time for a snuggle

- Daily Mail Reporter

WHEN you are four months old, you need a mother’s tender touch. And this polar bear cub was clearly in the mood for an affectionate snuggle.

He was seen cuddling up to his doting mother, tumbling with her in the snow, play-biting and then falling asleep with his head on hers at Ranua Wildlife Park in northern Finland.

The photographs were taken by John Daniels. The 64-year-old was on a visit to the wildlife park a few miles south of the Arctic Circle in Lapland when he spotted the adorable animals.

‘The cub spent a lot of time sleeping but when it was awake it was playing in the snow and jumping on its mother,’ said Mr Daniels, from Dunsfold, Surrey. ‘This would go on for about an hour or two before it got too tired or the mum got fed up. It was great to watch.’

Mother and cub were making the most of the wintry conditions – in summer temperatures can reach more than 20C (68F) and snow has to be brought in by truck from a local ski centre to help them keep cool.
