Secrets officer faces sack

-

ONE of Britain’s most senior police officers faces the sack after top secret papers were stolen from his unmarked car.

In May Assistant Chief Constable Marcus Beale, 54, left his locked briefcase containing two highly sensitive documents in the boot.

Five days later the West Midlands counter terrorism boss realised it was missing, sparking a nationwide hunt. Yesterday, he was fined £3,500 after admitting an offence under the Official Secrets Act and could be dismissed for gross misconduct. Westminster magistrate Emma Arbuthnot said his actions were ‘incredibly dangerous’.
