SEDBERGH SEAL TROPHY VICTORY

- ROB WILDMAN

SEDBERGH won the SOCS Daily Mail Schools Trophy with an all-round display which gained praise from the opposition. The Cumbrians raced to a 53-12 win to seal the title at Millfield, leaving rival coach John Mallett in awe. Mallett, a former Bath and England prop, said: ‘Sedbergh played excellent rugby. They do have a few superstars, but are a very good team and aren’t just a oneman band.’ Mallett was referring to Cameron Redpath, son of ex-Scotland international Bryan, who has played for Sale in the AngloWelsh Cup this year. The centre is one of nine in England youth squads while flanker Charlie Papworth is close to Wales caps and lock Jack Hill is a Scotland prospect.
