Garcia is Europe’s golfer of the year

SeRGio GARCiA has been named the european Tour’s golfer of the year. The Spaniard ended a long wait for his first major title at the masters in April and won three tournaments in total. Garcia, 37, who also married this year, said: ‘it’s an amazing honour. on and off the course it has been an unbelievable year, one i’ll remember my whole life.’ Garcia’s countryman Seve ballesteros won the award, voted for by members of the golfing media, in 1986, 1988 and 1991.
