Rising jaws-first from the water, this 20ft saltwater crocodile gave tourists on the Adelaide River in Australia’s Northern Territory a close-up glimpse of one of nature’s most terrifying beasts.
The one-ton male, who was coaxed out of the water by a tour guide dangling a piece of meat, has earned the name Dominator for his aggression.
He was snapped by Rhys Crowley from a neighbouring boat. Describing the moment the Dominator burst forth, he said: ‘You could see how shocked all the people on board were, the screams were so loud. It looked like he could easily jump in on the boat.’
