ADKINS GETS HULL IN SHAPE
Back in the dug-out for the first time since May 2016, Nigel adkins was swiftly reminded of the stresses of management as his Hull side edged Brentford 3-2. The Tigers had claws going forward but looked vulnerable defensively and had to get through nine minutes of stoppage time after Jackson Irvine scored the winner. ‘I loved it,’ adkins said. ‘I’ve not been in a dug-out for 18 months and the players have shown great character and team spirit.’
