PECKHAM’S £110m MAN

WITH a £110m fortune from the Carpetright empire, the Harris family have become well known.

Lord Harris was born in Peckham and left school with one Olevel. He set up the Harris Federation which has academy schools mostly in south London, which he still sponsors. He is also a Tory party donor. Harris bought Olympic gold-winning horse Hello Sanctos for £1.7m in 2012 with DFS founder Lord Kirkham.

Son Martin was the third generation to be involved in Carpetright. When he quit in 2014 he cashed in £500,000 in shares to start Tapi.
