OFFERING treats such as peanut bars and milletezers, it’s no wonder customers are flocking to Britain’s latest trendy eaterie.

The suet pie may seem a bit pricey, but it’s not putting off the high-fliers at the Bird Snack Bar – much to the delight of proprietor Kate MacRae.

The wildlife photographer created the feeding station using 1/12th doll’s house furniture and accessories.

Her friend Tom Firmstone built the frame – using glue to ensure stock didn’t fly off the shelves – and business was brisk from day one. ‘Within ten minutes, the robin came to check it out and before long there was a flurry of visitors,’ said Mrs MacRae, who has appeared on BBC’s Countryfile. She livestreams the snack bar in Lichfield, Staffordshire, at wildlifekate.co.uk but admits the real attraction for the birds is the unseen food tray at the front.
