INJURED BAILLY FACES SURGERY

JOSE MOURINHO has revealed that defender Eric Bailly may require surgery on his ankle injury if it does not respond to treatment. He could face a significant lay-off. Bailly has missed United’s last eight games after he was hurt on international duty with the Ivory Coast last month. ‘I think it’s serious,’ said Mourinho last night. ‘We are trying a conservative treatment, but he might have a surgical procedure.’ Asked if Bailly could miss the rest of the season, Mourinho replied: ‘I don’t want to be pessimistic. I want to leave it with the doctor.’
