HE might have just heard a really good joke – or perhaps the plant he is perched on tickled him.
Whatever made him giggle, this picture of a delighted dormouse has won a top prize at the Comedy Wildlife awards.
The photography competition, which this year received more than 3,500 entries from 86 countries, aims to raise awareness of conservation.
Other adorable winners include a pair of monkeys who seemingly find riding on a moped a scream, and a rather happy-looking sea otter with his paws in the air.
The dormouse, which was snapped while on top of a yarrow flower in the Italian mountains, won the Creatures of the Land category.
