Cameron’s Santa secrets
MAGAZINE editor Dylan Jones once wrote a toe- curlingly sycophantic biography of David Cameron. Clearly, the former PM is happy to return the compliment.
Cameron was spotted in Waterstones in Notting Hill this week buying two copies of Jones’s book David Bowie: A Life. GQ editor Jones was so keen to secure the Tory’s co-operation for his 2008 tome, Cameron On Cameron, that he paid him more than £20,000 for a few interviews.
Political biographer Anthony Howard said at the time that he regarded Jones’s actions as ‘reprehensible’. Cameron’s spokesman said he gave the money to charity.
