Strong hand on trade
AS the EU gives the all-clear to trade talks, this is a time for strong nerves. Yes, Theresa May has been woefully betrayed by the self- consumed, embittered Tory traitors who joined Labour to inflict this week’s Commons defeat.
And for all his warm words, you can be sure the duplicitous European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker will do his damnedest to undermine Britain.
But again and again, the Prime Minister has shown resilience in the face of adversity. And never forget, despite every treacherous attempt to throw Brexit off course, she has a hugely powerful hand to play.
The 27 desperately need our money, markets and services. Bring on those talks!
