SORT OUT SEEDS

-

IF y Ou gathered your own seed last summer, this is a good time to sort it out. For easy, hygienic sowing, clean up your seed stocks.

A simple way is to scatter dirty seed, pods or capsules on a sheet of clean, white paper and throw away the larger pieces of debris.

With all but the lightest seeds, you can gently blow the debris away. Old envelopes are fine for storing medium or large seeds, such as tagetes or sunflowers.

Finer seed can be folded into slips of paper, then sealed in an envelope until ready to use.
