Moyes: You can party when we’re safe, not at Christmas

- By KIERAN GILL

DAVID MOYES has cancelled West Ham’s Christmas party and promised the players he will throw them a big bash once they are safe instead. Moyes joked that his spies in London will spot the players if they organise their own outing. Second-bottom West Ham travel to Stoke today and Moyes said: ‘I don’t think we are in a position where we need to have a party. ‘I’m a great one for team spirit. If we are successful and we do the right things, then I will make sure the players have a day when they can enjoy themselves between now and the end of the season.’ A bonding session last season ended with Andy Carroll, Aaron Cresswell and Darren Randolph being spotted in a McDonald’s at 7am. There will be no festivities, either, at Newcastle after the players cancelled their own Christmas party. The Magpies, who visit Arsenal today, are a point off the drop zone after seven defeats and a draw in their last eight games.
