Back to reality as Ant’s wife says their marriage ‘is over’
HE put on a brave face in the jungle, but I’m A Celebrity host Ant McPartlin has returned from Australia to find his marriage woes have worsened.
McPartlin, 42, has been living separately from his wife Lisa Armstrong amid rumours she has told friends their marriage is ‘definitely’ over.
He was seen receiving a mattress at his rented West London house, while his co-host Dec Donnelly was spotted collecting McPartlin’s beloved labrador, Hurley, from the marital home.
The couple have been leading separate lives since McPartlin went into rehab for a painkiller addiction, the Sun on Sunday reported. Makeup artist Miss Armstrong, 41, has told friends the marriage ‘is definitely over,’ a source told the newspaper. ‘But on other days she has been more confident they can fix things. She desperately wants it to work out. He knows they need heart-to-heart talks but since he has returned from the jungle they just haven’t happened.’
The pair met on the Smash Hits tour in 1994 when he was 18 and she was 17. They married in Buckinghamshire in 2006.
A spokesman for McPartlin did not respond to requests for comment.
