GLOUCESTER BACK FRACAS DUO

- CHRIS FOY

GLOUCESTER backed their head coach and his son last night despite confirming reports of an incident in Cheltenham early on Sunday. As Sportsmail revealed, allegations were made on social media about a clash between two groups at a nightclub, which left a man with facial injuries and prompted a police investigation. Gloucester’s new head coach Johan Ackermann and his son Ruan, the club’s No 8, were implicated by relatives of the victim. Having conducted an investigation, Gloucester chief executive Stephen Vaughan said: ‘I am completely satisfied that while an incident did take place, it was instigated by others and not by Johan and Ruan.’
