Woman killed in four-vehicle hit and run

-

A WOMAN died after being hit by two lorries and at least two cars that failed to stop.

Justyna Kalandyk, 29, who is Polish and was visiting family in the UK, was initially hit by a lorry as she crossed a busy road at a pedestrian crossing in Tulse Hill, South London. The first vehicle did not stop and she was then hit by another lorry and two or possibly three cars, say police. Miss Kalandyk, pictured, died at the scene, at 7.21am on December 11, after suffering multiple injuries.

She had been staying with relatives in Wandsworth, South London. A family member identified her body.

After appealing for information and examining CCTV footage, police have traced the drivers involved in the crash.

An inquest at Southwark Coroner’s Court heard that officers may bring charges over Miss Kalandyk’s death.

DC Stephanie Burr said: ‘No one has been charged yet – but somebody may be charged.’

The inquest was adjourned.
