Unfair benefits

-

DOES everyone on benefits have to pay tax on their income?

I paid into my state pension all my working life, plus a small private pension, and have to pay tax on all income over the personal allowance.

So I find it surprising that a mother on benefits is boasting about spending £ 2,000 on Christmas presents for her children (Mail).

Let’s have a level playing field for everyone.

Mrs D. HOLLAND, Worthing, W. Sussex. MY APPLICATION was rejected when I tried to claim the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for my wife because Alzheimer’s is not regarded as a disability.

So imagine how I felt when I heard about the asylum seeker who managed to con 22 councils into paying her £244,000 in benefits.

S. GERRARD, York.
