15 gifts for the taxman

FIFTEEN patriotic citizens gave the taxman £180,393 in the year to March, official figures show.

Britons have handed over 200 gifts to the Exchequer since 2000, worth £8.3m. People gifted between 4p and £800,000, with money typically left in wills. It is passed to the Commissioners for the Reduction of the National Debt and used to buy or cancel bonds.
