Don’t panic! It’s just a Dad’s Army stamp
IF you’ve ever lamented the absence of a stamp featuring your favourite sitcom about a bumbling Home Guard platoon, then don’t panic.
For a set of eight Dad’s Army stamps to mark the popular show’s 50th anniversary are among a ‘best of British’ series to be released by the Royal Mail next year.
Other events commemorated by the Special Stamps programme will be the centenary of the RAF – with stamps featuring different aircraft, pictured – and of the end of the First World War.
Dad’s Army ran from 1968 to 1977. The stamps, released in June, will include one with Lance Corporal Jones’s famous warning ‘Don’t panic!’
