Follow-up

ERIC WARD asked if anyone remembered the presentation of a clock to Princess Elizabeth at No. 1 MTTC Camberley (Peterborough). Well, I was there as a learner driver, probably taught by his mother, and remember the occasion well, being very impressed by the princess’s beautiful complexion. Of course, being a lowly trainee driver, I had no idea of the provenance of the clock. I remember we were in awe of the instructors, so it was rather strange when I became one a year later.
