PUNTER POWER

Stick with Racemail’s top team for the best chance of beating the bookies

- PETER Scudamore

CONDITIONS look like being arduous at Chepstow. that will make the Coral Welsh national a mighty slog but they should not be a problem for lightlyraced WILD WEST WIND, who won the trial for Wales’s biggest steeplechase.

the others i like in the race include Chase the spud and seasonal debutant Mysteree, trained by my son Michael. he goes well fresh and is at the right end of the results.

At Kempton, POLITOLOGUE is stamping his authority on the two-mile chase landscape and he can cement that with victory in the Desert orchid Chase. this track will suit his main rival special tiara more than my selection and the irish raider has won this race for the last two years. But politologue is the rising star of the division.

he jumps slickly and his defeat of Fox norton in the tingle Creek Chase at sandown earlier this month looks rock solid.

some rain is forecast overnight and if conditions do become a little more testing, pa u l nicholls-trained politologue has the stamina to cope.

SUSSEX RANGER, whose win at sandown looked good, is the pick for the Finale hurdle.
