The tennis star, 36, was on Rottnest Island off Perth in Australia ahead of practising for a competition this weekend. The island is known for its quokkas – friendly small marsupials related to kangaroos – who are renowned for their almost permanent smiles. But their claws can be dangerous, and it is illegal for the public to touch them. And a nasty scratch would not be an advantage, Mr Federer.
